The Norman chancel arch is the most obvious surviving feature of the second phase of the church's development. It is early 12th century, with characteristic semicircular shape and 'dog tooth' or chevron carving on the west face. Inside the chancel is the recently restored altar cloth. We can now step across to the other side of the church and have a closer look at the North Aisle. |
