During 2024 a section of ceiling plaster fell down in the South Aisle, fortunately the church was closed at the time.

This prompted a closer inspection of both Aisles. Initially, four areas were found to be failing.

The restoration was undertaken by a local lime plaster specialist, using traditional materials and techniques, working from internal scaffolding. Once the work was started two other areas were found to be in poor repair so these were added to the project.

After allowing time for the lime plaster to dry out and with the scoffolding still in place, the panels were painted. The whole project took eight weeks to complete.
