In 2018 cracks began to appear in the wall of the North Aisle and a corbel supporting the roof structure inside the church broke away.
The wall was found to be subsiding and in danger of collapse so scaffolding was put in place inside and outside the church to stop the wall moving any further.
After investigative work a collapsed drain was found as well as the sibsidence. To correct the problems the North wall was underpinned and supported by a new buttress.
The collapse of the wall took more than a year to rectify but it is now stable and restored.
